FXStreet (Barcelona) - The Brown Brothers Harriman Team notes that weekly MOF data indicates that Japanese investors have continued to purchase foreign securities.

“Weekly MOF data for the week ended May 8 showed that for the first 18 weeks of the year, there have been only 3 weeks of Japan investors selling foreign bonds. Furthermore, Japan investors have bought foreign equities in all 18 weeks.”

“Purchases of foreign bonds and equities have totaled $21.8 bln and $50.1 bln year-to-date, respectively. For equity purchases, the 52-week total rose to $95.1 bln. For bonds, the 52-week total rose to $74.5 bln.”
