UK: Annual Retail Sales grow 0.5% in April
FXstreet.com (Barcelona) - National Statistics reported on Wednesday that year-over-year UK Retail Sales rose 0.5% in April, compared with the 0.5% decrease in March and well below forecasts of +2%.
On a monthly basis UK Retail Sales fell 1.3% in April, down from the 0.6% decline in March and against expectations of remaining flat.
Annual Retail Sales excluding Fuel increased 0.2%, following the 0.4% rise and below market consensus of 1.7% growth. Month-over-month Retail Sales excluding Fuel dropped 1.4%, following a 0.7% decrease and against expectations of +0.1%.
On a monthly basis UK Retail Sales fell 1.3% in April, down from the 0.6% decline in March and against expectations of remaining flat.
Annual Retail Sales excluding Fuel increased 0.2%, following the 0.4% rise and below market consensus of 1.7% growth. Month-over-month Retail Sales excluding Fuel dropped 1.4%, following a 0.7% decrease and against expectations of +0.1%.
